3.Burning Leaves Never Smelled So Sweet
sunsets crush oppurtunities
moving on came so easily
swing sets that are hanging still
are like the resting place of childhook dreams
trees with names forever etched
impressions forever sketched
on minds in hearts shrouded in tears
are more than skin deep
reach back to see the memories
held so close and tightly
clench tight your eyes and hope to dream
of a place and how it used to be
the memories are the scrapbook of the mind
scraping footsteps across sidewalks
cracked knowledge that they won't retrace
to loves and insecurities
drunk off of memories and sun soaked skies
the past is gone and it won't come back
this light is slowly fading away
the waves come crashing in
and this train sped off it's tracks
the silence is so deafening
